I am Linda Whyman and I live in York. UK.
I have owned aussies since early 1995 but before aussies we had GSD's who shared our family life.
I'm a member of ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club Of America)
and I own and have bred aussies to the ASCA breed standard.
I am also a founder member of the National Australian Shepherd Association here in the UK.
I support the 10 Steps programme
Remuda Aussies are fed a raw meat and bone diet from :
Natural Instinct
There have only been 3 Remuda litters since 1998 the first litter was born in quarantine after my friend Sue Beavers (Topeka) and I jointly financed this venture. HS&W Blazing Star a.k.a. Blaze was leased to me and bred to Silverledge Slide Me to Da Bar CD STDs from this litter of 6 puppies 3 were bred from.
Remuda Aussies have competed successfully in all venues although not primarily selected to be successful in the show/conformation/breed ring a few have made it to Crufts in that venue but their real success lies in perfromance sports, Obedience, UK Working Trials, Flyball and Agility - there have even been a couple of TV stars! This has been possible due to the commitment and dedication of their fabulous owners to whom I give all credit and honest appreciation.
I was actively working with my aussies in obedience and sheeping until the untimely death of my husband George in 2001. Caused by a tragic accident this had a profound efect on me and our family and my dog activities suffered as a consequence however I remained (and still remain) committed to the Australian Shepherd breed and in particular to my own "working type" aussies... and hope to be back doing "stuff" with the help of good friends in the future.
In1996 I was lucky to get my next Aussie Reno (Lyveden Fairapache Nitido At Remuda) What can be said about Reno! an amzing little dog who was an obedience star! Reno won out of Beginners and his first Novice in one season- only months after we started our formal training. He was presented for Breed Survey to Mr. Ernest Hartlnagle of the famous Las Rocosa Kennel and Mr. Hartnagle called him, "A mighty fine dog!" he was Class 1. He sired 2 litters the second for my friend Sue (Topeka) and his son who Sue kept is OB. CH. Topeka Railroad Stitch.... The little guy would be so proud! and I am blessed to have shared my life with him.
Before the first Remuda litter was ever thought of I owned 2 Aussies. The first was Taz (Bluefires Free Flyer) Taz was a wonderful all round good dog! He competed in Obedience with me winning Beginners as well as many more placings, he went sheeping and showed natural insitinct with good balance. He had an excellent temperament and was a brilliant ambassador for the breed. When my husband died Taz went to live with my daughter Morag, her husband Ian and their growing young family. He was much loved by all until his death 4 years ago. Jan 1995 - Oct 2007
